Building Bridges: ISSNAF Mobility Program Presentation

On May 19, 2025, ISSNAF will host a conference at Sapienza Università di Roma. 

Organized in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), the event is designed to promote and raise awareness of the ISSNAF mobility program. 

ISSNAF’s mission is to strengthen scientific, academic, and technological ties between Italy and North America. By leveraging the dynamic community of Italian researchers currently active in North America, ISSNAF aims to transform this network into a resource that benefits society at large. 

Thanks to co-financing from MUR, ISSNAF is developing a system of infrastructure to enhance collaboration between Italian higher education institutions and ISSNAF members—scholars and researchers based in North America. 

The program is designed to increase opportunities for Italian students and early-career scientists to participate in study and research experiences at prestigious institutions across North America. 

During the event, attendees will gain insights into the program’s characteristics, hear from Italian institutions already involved, and listen to testimonials from students who have recently taken part in mobility experiences. 

This gathering will serve as an important occasion for representatives from Italian academic institutions to gain a clearer understanding of ISSNAF’s efforts and opportunities, and to engage—alongside MUR and CRUI officials—in meaningful discussions on how to optimize this program in the face of the challenges and limitations of the current academic environment.
