Dr. Paola Arlotta is Professor of stem cell and regenerative biology at Harvard University, and chair of HSCRB. Paola talks about her research on a revolutionary technique to study the brain and its diseases: brain organoids, miniature organ-like structures grown in the laboratory to study a wide range of diseases, about philanthropic funding and women in science.
She credits a happy upbringing, the encouragement to ‘do what she liked’ and an inspiring high school science teacher as being major influences on her life and career.
